Why did pageant preparation need a system?
Professional preparation for international competition was concentrated inside established networks — leaving most Indian aspirants without access to feedback, communication training or credible pathways abroad.
Dr Akshata Prabhu had needed that structure herself when she returned to competition in 2019 and could not find it. She built the framework, then founded the organisation that runs it.
What does international pageant preparation cover?
Preparation spans eight areas taught in sequence — identity, communication, stagecraft, camera, positioning, presentation, international readiness, and career after the title.
Identity & story
Self-awareness, values, biography, differentiation, and the advocacy that gives a candidacy purpose.
Communication
Interview structure, public speaking, concise answers, vocal delivery, media handling.
Stagecraft
Posture, walk, turns, expression, use of space, microphone handling, composure under pressure.
Camera
Stills, video introductions, facial control, screen presence, angles, audition preparation.
Positioning
Professional identity, social presence, biography, visual consistency, reputation.
Presentation
Silhouette, colour, event suitability, national representation, wardrobe planning.
International readiness
Travel, documentation, cultural awareness, organiser communication, professional conduct.
After the title
Fashion, brand work, performance, screen and speaking — the career a crown is meant to open.

Common questions
Do you need a coach to win an international pageant?
Not formally, but international competition assesses interview, stagecraft, camera performance and personal positioning at the same time, and few candidates develop all four without structured preparation.
How long does preparation take?
Preparation begins on selection rather than weeks before an event. The eight areas are taught in sequence, and readiness is assessed rather than assumed.
What is The International Glamour Project?
TIGP is the national platform founded by Dr Akshata Prabhu and Swaroop Puranik, running Teen, Miss and Mrs competitions in India and preparing selected candidates for international events.
Who is Dr Akshata Prabhu?
Dr Akshata Prabhu won Ms International World 2021 in Florida, USA. She works as an international pageant mentor, jury member and curator, and co-hosted the opening carnival parade of the 56th International Film Festival of India in Panaji in November 2025, telecast on Doordarshan.
